As reported in a new feature for Patch, students from four Pinellas County schools earned $135,000 through the 12th annual Paid for Grades program, with financial support from Chargebacks911.
Patch is “an innovative way to find out about, and participate in, what's going on near you.” The site offers a way for readers to keep up with news and events, learn more about local businesses and the people behind them, and participate in discussions.
Chargebacks911 CEO Monica Eaton founded Paid for Grades in 2013 as a way to help local students improve their grades and achieve more. Thousands of Pinellas County students have participated since the program launched, and we’re always very excited to see these kids succeed!
“It’s basically giving them incentive to do what they’re going to do anyway. And just that extra incentive, that extra push, that extra encouragement. I would encourage more people to do it,” said Karen Dydzuhn, a teacher at East Lake and Paid for Grades mentor. “This really gets your kid engaged. This really will help them through the whole year and the whole program.”
“Watching this program grow year after year — and now expand to new schools like Eastlake reminds me of why we started it in the first place,” Monica added. “These students have proven that dedication, resilience, and the right support system can change lives. I hope every student walks away not just with a check, but with the belief that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.”
