Chargebacks911® COO Finalist for Prestigious Industry Award
Monica Eaton has been selected as a finalist for the 2018 Women in IT Awards Silicon Valley. This is an incredible honor, recognizing Monica’s innovation, ambition, and passion for promoting women in the tech industry.
Promoting Women in Technology is Key
The Women in IT Awards series selects women making contributions to IT around the world. The Silicon Valley ceremony, which takes place on November 29, is the first in the 2018 presentations. Subsequent events will take place later in Dublin, London, New York, and Singapore.
Women earned approximately 17% of all computer science and information sciences bachelor’s degree awarded in the US in 2014. Believe it or not, that represents a significant decline since the mid-80s. Something has to be done.
The focus of this award series, presented by Information Age, is to help tackle technology’s ongoing diversity issues. By promoting women in technology, the awards showcase not only the contributions women make to the industry, but also help inspire the next generation of women working in tech fields.
“I’m incredibly grateful to be selected for this award,” Monica explained. “I’m a longtime advocate of women in IT. Women have a lot to offer in this field, but many people who might thrive here feel uncomfortable embracing their love of technology due to the state of representation in the industry. I really believe that promoting women’s accomplishments, and encouraging young girls to explore STEM fields, is the key to solving this problem.”
