Pel sat down with Tia Osei, Sen. VP & Head of Strategic Initiatives at US Bank - Elavon, to talk about their experiences. A common thread running through their discussion was the need to grant the permission and grace to be yourself at work.
“We all wear so many hats... and with wearing so many hats, we also wear masks. And, I think it means stripping yourself of everything around you and just being your authentic self,” Pel explains. “For me, it means staying in the moment, it means giving yourself grace to make the best decision you can with what you know in that moment.”
“If I dig a little deeper, if I look at some of those life experiences I've had, and how they’ve led me to where I am now, then other things come up for me as well,” Tia says. “I’m quite competitive, I can be pretty hard on myself... I think that, through this journey, working with professionals like Pel and others, I’ve hard to learn how to really be myself and show up as myself, but then also have grace for myself in those times.”
