The holiday shopping season is right around the corner, and merchants should be getting ready now. In response, Chargebacks911 CEO Monica Eaton was recently asked to weigh in and offer her impressions on what retailers in the UK can expect this year.
Founded in 1990, Interactive Media in Retail Group is a trade association focused on helping online retailers and brands to better understand and improve their overall performance. IMRG has grown to become the UK’s largest eCommerce membership community in recent years. Composed of retailers, brands, and technology partners, they encourage cooperation between brands and technology partners to forge sustainable relationships.
One of the main concerns for retailers in the weeks after the holidays should be managing returns and disputes. As Monica explains in the piece, “post-transaction disputes can negatively impact profits and reputation, quickly swallowing up revenue due to chargebacks.”
“It’s a rising trend that could cause retailers to rack up fees and frustrated customers,” she says. “This is because with more transactions taking place at this time of the year—especially online—there is more chance of consumers reporting charges from their banking statements as fraudulent to their banks or credit card providers.”
