Chargebacks911 CEO Monica Eaton was asked to contribute her thoughts on authorized push payment fraud for an Industry Voices feature for the Payments Association.
The Payments Association is the largest community in payments. Founded in 2008, the association operates in the UK, EU and Asia, helping almost 300 companies enhance their commercial interests, solve societal problems such as financial exclusion and evaluate new opportunities for innovation in payments.
“The rollout of centralized claims management system (RCMS) marks a major shift in how APP scam claims are handled,” Monica says in the piece. “While integrating legacy systems will be tricky, the move promises greater consistency, collaboration, and transparency across the industry.”
Monica elaborates that technological upgrades will be needed... but will ultimately be a net benefit.
“Faster, clearer claims processing benefits both consumers and providers, and improved data insights mean better fraud detection. This isn’t just a compliance exercise — it’s an opportunity to modernize, outpace fraudsters, and create a safer, smarter payments ecosystem.”
