Purchasing Card

Also known as a p-card, procurement card, or pro card, a purchasing card is a corporate credit or debit card that authorized employees can use to procure goods and services.

By using purchasing cards, companies cut down on the time that administrative and finance teams need to spend on providing reimbursements to employees who use personal funds for company purchases. These tools also simplify the procurement process by eliminating the constant needs for vendor invoices. Companies can also set spending limits and track expenditures to rein in excess spending.

Purchasing cards can be used to purchase office supplies, pay for team building and capacity building activities, buy print and digital ads, and pay for travel expenses. Examples of purchasing cards include single-use prepaid cards for one-time purchases, virtual cards for online transactions, and physical cards for in-store and online purchases.
