Corporate Card
A corporate card is a credit card issued to a company or organization specifically for use by that company. It is typically imprinted with the organization’s name and can theoretically be used by any employee. The corporation is responsible for charges on the card, and for keeping the card up to date.
Because they're somewhat generic, corporate credit cards can be misused for unapproved charges or even personal purchases. To protect themselves, banks will usually only issue cards to larger companies with an established credit history.
Within the organization, usage can be limited by creating subsets of the corporate card imprinted with the names of individual employees or departments. These may only be usable at a certain store or for a set amount, which makes it easier to track spending and detect misuse.
