Submission

Submission is the stage at which a cardholder presents their credit, debit, or prepaid card information to a merchant, who will in turn submit the transaction for processing.

Specifically, in a card-present transaction, a cardholder can submit a payment by taping, dipping, inserting, or swiping their card.

In a card-not-present transaction, the cardholder submits a payment by filling out their payment details, including their card number, address, card expiration date, and card verification values in an online checkout form.
