Monica Eaton is an ‘Advocate for Women’ Finalist!
Monica Eaton, Co-Founder and COO of Chargebacks911, has been selected as a finalist for the 2019 Women in Payments Advocate for Women award. This honor recognizes Monica’s tireless work in promoting women’s role in payments and other technical fields.
The Women in Payments awards are an important annual recognition presented during the Women in Payments Symposium. Other categories include awards for educators, innovation, and rising starts in the industry.
As explained by the event organizers, the Advocate for Women award recognizes contributions to the “advancement and development of women either inside or outside his/her own organization.” This could be through creation of leadership development programs, or by helping increase women’s participation and engagement in the industry.
Being an advocate for women in the payments space strongly reflects Monica’s philosophy. She continues to speak out about the disparity in VC funding for women-led businesses, the need for female mentors in STEM education, and many other subjects.
“Women are still underrepresented in payments,” Monica explains. “Advocacy is a key part of how we can go about addressing that disparity. We need to speak about the barriers to entry women face, and solutions to help overcome them.”
