Monica Eaton on Entrepreneurship for Leading Career Resource
Monica Eaton, Co-Founder and COO of Chargebacks911, was asked to contribute to Recruiter.com’s recent article regarding 7 myths about entrepreneurship.
Recruiter.com is dedicated to disrupting the $120 billion recruiting and staffing industry by combining an AI and video hiring platform with the world's largest network of over 27,500 small and independent recruiters. Businesses of all sizes recruit talent faster using the Recruiter.com platform, which is powered by virtual teams of recruiters-on-demand and video and AI job-matching technology.
As part of their Recruiter Q&A platform, several business executives were asked to contribute what they thought were some of the biggest myths about being an entrepreneur. Specifically, the question of the day was: What, in your opinion, are some of the most common misconceptions about being an entrepreneur?
Monica and her fellow experts were asked why these misconceptions are wrong, and what truth that potential entrepreneurs should know. As she pointed out, entrepreneurs are not born, but rather are created.
“Lots of people seem to have this notion that the entrepreneurial attitude and skillset comes naturally, that entrepreneurs are simply ‘born with it,’” Monica explained. “While that may be the case for some, I would say that for most people, developing what it takes to be successful is a long, hard process.”
She elaborated that failure and stress will come with the territory. But, these are essential parts of the journey.
“To become a fully-vetted entrepreneur, you will need to keep pushing yourself to grow and learn. Most importantly, you need to refuse to give up. Ultimately, in almost all cases, great entrepreneurs are made, rather than born.”
