Monica Eaton Offers 2022 Forecast for Fintech Times

Considering the View From the Top With Chargebacks911®

Monica Eaton Co-Founder and COO of Chargebacks911 was recently asked to participate in a Fintech Times feature titled View From the Top. The feature asked several executives from established and emerging businesses to weigh-in with their 2022 projections for the market.

The Fintech Times is a bimonthly publication exploring the explosive world of financial technology. They blend first-hand insight, opinions, and expertise with observational journalism to provide a balanced and comprehensive perspective of this rapidly evolving industry.

The piece seeks to glean what executives in the fintech sphere thought the next twelve months might hold. Chargebacks911 was one business that has managed to continue diversifying and expanding, even despite the pandemic and its immediate aftermath. To that effect, Monica expressed both enthusiasm and caution with respect to projections for the coming year.

“We work across a great number of industries, so it’s easy to take the pulse of what is happening in the economy at large, and one major change versus 2020 that we have seen this year is that the travel industry is bouncing back, “ she said. “Although it is not back to pre-COVID levels, the travel industry is significantly up from where it was in 2020, and associated industries like hotels are going to be seeing the benefits from that.”

It’s not all rosy forecasts, though. Monica went on to warn businesses that there will likely be “a surge of chargebacks” coming in 2022. “It is far easier to initiate a successful chargeback in digital retail than in physical stores, so we can expect there to be a great number of chargebacks after this holiday season,” she says.
