“Entrepreneurial Mindset” is the Key to Success for Women in Business & Tech
In her monthly guest column for Newsmax Finance, Chargebacks911® COO Monica Eaton examines the lack representation in business and tech, and what we can do to change it.
Monica is a long-time advocate for women in business and in STEM education. In her view, building a more diverse and inclusive economy isn’t just about fairness…it’s good business sense. “After all, we know that more diverse teams tend to outperform their homogenous counterparts,” she explained in her latest post. The problem: women are vastly outnumbered in key indicators like participation in college venture competitions.
Monica suggests the entrepreneurial mindset is the key to amending the current situation. “Thinking like an entrepreneur draws on numerous widely-applicable skills, including critical thinking, leadership, business administration, and investing, just to name a few,” she says.
What we need is to place more emphasis on training and education for women in this field. This will help young women in business develop their skills and increase their value in the job market. This isn’t just a matter for universities to worry about, though.
Monica suggests the private sector plays a role in developing tomorrow’s workforce. “This will, in turn, promote innovative thinking and risk-taking, and help create a whole new generation of female entrepreneurs, STEM workers, and anything else young people can set their minds to.”
