Monica Eaton Says Online Environment is a “Lifeline” for Businesses
2020 was a crazy and unpredictable year, but even amid the chaos, we can still make reliable forecasts for the future. To this end, the folks at 2Checkout asked Chargebacks911 COO Monica Eaton, as well as a panel of other experts, to weigh-in on what we can expect from 2021 in the payments space.
2Checkout is a leading all-in-one monetization platform. Their services simplify the back-end complexities of modern digital commerce, allowing for rapid international business expansion and optimization of recurring revenue streams across channels.
In the post, Monica forecasts that the surge in online retail is going to come hand-in-hand with an uptick in fraud and chargeback activity. “Customers – even those who were previously reluctant to – are now comfortable shopping online,” she says. “It will likely remain a core part of their retail experience for the foreseeable future, but with this renewed vigor for eCommerce comes raised levels of fraud, chargebacks, and friendly fraud, which will continue in 2021.”
She insists that merchants must learn to address friendly fraud and internal missteps that can cause these problems. This should go along with a multilayered approach to criminal fraud which will, in her words, “go a long way towards protecting bottom lines as companies recover from the pandemic.”
