Monica Eaton-Cardone Comments on Credit Scores & Helping Consumers Pay Off Debt
Chargebacks911® COO Monica Eaton-Cardone, a globally recognized thought leader in payments and finance, recently spoke with Brian O'Connell to offer insight on consumer credit for Fox Business.
The Fox Business Network is a national publication spotlighting key developments in business and finance. The channel is headquartered in New York, with correspondents stationed around the globe, reaching millions of readers and viewers every day.
More than half of surveyed Americans have a goal of leading a debt-free life. In the piece, Monica and her fellow experts examine a variety of different methods that consumers can employ to improve their position and make this goal more attainable.
While living debt-free is great, most people will need to borrow money at some point. Whether it’s to purchase a car, a home, or to take out a credit card that can enable one to build credit in the first place, some debt is probably unavoidable.
Working to protect—and improve—one’s credit score is crucial for consumers looking to have a healthy financial profile. As Monica suggests, landing a score in the 700+ range can be easy if you’re proactive and diligent about paying bills on time.
“Just be methodical, detailed, and consistent,” she says. “That means paying your bills, settling old debts with creditors or agencies, many of which are prepared to negotiate, and fixing credit score errors. Those are the low-hanging fruits in the credit score market.”
