Chargebacks911® Contributes to Australia Fire Relief

Join Us in Supporting Relief Efforts in One of the World’s Most Vulnerable, Biodiverse Regions

There is a tragedy unfolding right now in Australia.

The country is currently enduring one of their worst fire seasons on record. As of this writing, more than 18 million acres of Australia have burned since the season began in September 2019. The fires have killed at least 27 people and destroyed nearly 2,000 homes across an area roughly the size of the US state of West Virginia. In addition, more than 1 billion animals are believed to have been killed, dealing untold, potentially irreversible damage to some of the world’s most unique and sensitive ecosystems.

We at Chargebacks911® encourage everyone to take note and lend a helping hand. To set an example, we chose to take action in response to this ongoing disaster ourselves. To start, we’re officially committed to make a significant donation to support ongoing relief efforts in Queensland and New South Wales in Eastern Australia.

“The fires in Eastern Australia right now are a global tragedy,” says Chargebacks911 COO Monica Eaton. “The human cost has already been devastating, with dozens of people killed or injured, and thousands more having their lives forever changed. That’s not even considering the ecological damage, which could literally drive many of these unique and vulnerable species to extinction. That said, we still have a chance to make a real difference.”

The donation will be provided through GIVIT, an organization in partnership with the Queensland government. GIVIT manages all offers of donated goods and services for disaster relief in the state, with 100% of funds received supporting people in devastated communities. The organization has raised nearly $3 million to support relief efforts, and the GIVIT team endeavors to spend these funds locally wherever possible.

"We’re running out of time, and so much of the damage can never be undone. Once an animal is extinct, we’ve lost something irreplaceable. That’s why it’s so critically important for us to stand with Australia, support the brave firefighters, and help the victims rebuild and recover.”

In addition to supporting GIVIT financially, Chargebacks911 will also promote the charity on social media and other digital platforms, encouraging others to donate to GIVIT as well. “As a part of ‘Operation Outback911,’ we want to get the word out,” explained Eaton. “It’s still not too late to help. Certainly, Australia appreciates your thoughts and prayers, but more than anything else, we desperately need your donations, charity and support. Please consider helping however you can.”
